If you are one of the 2% that have more than 20 GB of files in your Google Drive account, we are asking you to review the contents of your account and either eliminate files to less than 20 GB and/or migrate files to an alternative location (e.g., a personal Gmail account, storage drive, etc.) by no later than June 1, 2022. Therefore, the University of Richmond will be implementing 20 GB storage quotas for all Google Drive accounts. As you might imagine, this would be very disruptive for our university community.ĩ8% of UR's students, alumni, and retirees use less than 20 GB/person of Google Drive storage. If the University of Richmond is unable to comply with Google’s new restrictions, students, alumni, and retirees will no longer be able to receive emails in or add files to their accounts. Google is no longer offering unlimited storage as of Jand the University of Richmond is being forced to implement storage quotas for all accounts. Google announced in 2021 that it is imposing storage restrictions on its higher education customers.
